Looking Forward to 2012

As another calendar year draws to a close, it is a good time to reflect on the year past, and one that lies ahead.

Merry Christmas 2011

Merry Christmas to my readers, and all the rest of the world! Tomorrow we shall look back as the Light broke into the world to dispel the darkness. When He came into the world, the world did not know Him, and still does not. But He knows the world, for the world was made through Him.

We shall remember how the Word became flesh, so that the wisdom of the world could be made foolish, and the foolish things of the world could put to shame those who are wise.

We remember that on a starry night was born, in the city of David, a Saviour, the promised Messiah. He came to show why we are not righteous before God, and then He suffered, bled, died, and rose again so that we are able to stand in a right relationship with our Creator, Father God.

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty! To Him be all power, majesty, and glory!

Elusive Future

Just a quick update to let everyone know that I, and this website, are still alive! I missed my 1 September deadline for handing in my thesis, and the pressure is on. I also have a lot going on apart from work and studying.

Where I am at Present

I have not been very active on this website for a while now. I am still here, however, so here is an update about where I am in life at the moment, and what my prospects are.

At the beginning of the year I started to work. I thus left my leisurely student days behind, while not actually having finished my studies. With reasonable expectations, this was going to be a challenging year for me.

Hermanus Kid's Club

I have signed up to take part in a mission. The church I am at periodically has outreaches to the children in Hermanus, a popular sea-side town here in the Western Cape.

Another New Map and a Genesis

I managed to dig up another map I can use from Wikimedia Commons. This one shows the three missionary journeys of the Apostle Paul which are mentioned in the Bible, as well as the initial stage of his first imprisonment and way to Rome. You can find the map here.

New TIM Talk: Wrapping Up

I just put up my final TIM talk for 2009. Is the year that old already that we are finishing up things? Good grief... Anyway, it can be found here.

Another Map

"News" is that, two weeks ago, I added another map—I just never got around to announcing it. Tongue The map shows the boundaries of the kingdom of Herod I "The Great".

New TIM Talk, New Maps

So I have recovered about 95% from my bout with the flu. Thank you to everyone who gave their well wishes! I just wish I had more to show for all that downtime...

Modus Operandi

I was suppose to give another TIM talk today, but the flu got me.  It got me bad.  Luckily I'm over the worst of it.  Now it is just rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest, rest......  This is actually a great opportunity for me to do the things I can't/don't make time (or enough of it) for normally.  But I guess we'll have to see how my laziness, tiredness, eagerness and guilt balances out in the end.
